Lot details A pair of early 20th century Russian Officer's shoulder straps, each embroidered in gold fabric with applied gilt metal openwork scrolling badges with two five point stars and brass buttons embossed with Imperial eagles, mounted with a plaque below "Russian Officer's Shoulder Straps Bought At Hamadan N.E. Persia, June 1918. In their retreat through Persia from Khanikhin during the early stages of the revolution officers were stripped of their badges of rank which were then sold by their own men in the Persian bazars A.C.S. from A.K.S. 1.7.19", housed in an ebonised frame, 28.5 x 22cm.Request a condition report
