Lot of 2: Closed Mouth French Bisque Dolls.

Lot consists of: The larger doll is 23" (58cm) tall and is incised in the back of the head "FG 9", with the letters encircled by a scroll or cartouche. She has huge blue-gray paperweight eyes, a full so-called "bee stung" mouth with full lips and the hint of a tongue, a deep dimple in the chin, and pierced ears. She is on a fully jointed French wood and composition body with an oval paper label on the back torso reading "Bebe Jumeau Diplome D'Honneur". The body finish is mostly original, with a little bit of wear and some possible old paint touch up in the hands and forearms. She has a nice dark blond antique mohair wig over a cork pate and is appropriately dressed. The smaller doll, 13" (33cm), is totally unmarked on both the head and body, however, she has the distinct look and qualities of a Jumeau, and one may assume she is of that manufacture. She has lovely pale blue threaded paperweight eyes, a closed mouth, and fully articulated French wood and composition body with original finish, some wear and minor fingertip damage. She wears an organdy gauze and lace dress with a matching bonnet,brown leather shoes marked "2" on the soul and a blond mohair wig. The FG doll has a slight surface line above the left ear emitting from the crown, which appears to be nothing more than a mold flaw which shows on the outer surface, as it does not appear to go all the way through.
