Lot of 2 Costa Rican Stone Avian Celt Pendants

Pre-Columbian, Costa Rica, Guanacaste / Nicoya region, ca. 200 to 800 CE. A wonderful pair of axe celts, each one finely carved from a single piece of greenstone, both depicting avian figures with tall, lobed crest feathers, prominent pointed beaks, and arms or wings (as they may represent transforming shaman figures), held across the chest. Each one is laterally drilled behind the beak for suspension and/or attachment. Size of largest: 0.7" W x 4.375" H (1.8 cm x 11.1 cm)

Condition Report: Both pieces have light encrustations, otherwise intact and very good. Nice earthen deposits throughout and great calcifications on larger example.
