Lot of 2 Fossilized Megalodon Teeth

Ancient Seas, Middle Miocene to end of Pliocene eras, ca. 28 to 1.5 million years ago. A gorgeous pair of fossilized teeth from one of the ancient seas' most ferocious hunters: the Megalodon shark. The first tooth is of a broad form with a lustrous black and tan enamel, a fissured root, and a set of petite marine barnacles attached to the verso. The largest tooth exhibits a reflective black enamel with ash gray peripheries, a verso replete with several vertical striations, and a thick root with an integral tab projecting outwards on one side. Size of largest (black enamel): 3.1" W x 4" H (7.9 cm x 10.2 cm); 4.125" H (10.5 cm) on included custom stand.

Provenance: ex-private Savannah, Georgia, USA collection

Condition Report: Both teeth have minor nicks and chips to enamel and root, with light encrustations within some recessed areas, otherwise intact and very good. Great luster throughout.
