Lot of 2: German Bisque Head Dolls.

Lot consists of: The slightly taller and chubbier doll, 16-1/2" (42cm), is a toddler doll with the head incised "K&*R SIMON & HALBIG 121 36". He has blue glass sleep eyes, and an open slightly smiling mouth with two upper teeth and a separate tongue. He is on the original fully jointed German toddler body with diagonal hip joints, and mostly original finish although somewhat "washed". He wears a two piece 1920's style blue and white romper suit, with newer white leather shoes and a reddish-brown lamb's wool wig. In the outer corner of the right eye is a minuscule eye flake, which is barely noticeable. The slightly smaller doll, 15-1/2" (39cm), is light brown bisque tinted with fired in color, with brown glass sleep eyes, an open slightly smiling mouth with four upper teeth, and incised on the back of the head "Germany Handwerck Halbig". She is on her original, brown painted fully jointed German body with original finish, and missing one finger on the right hand, with perhaps the next finger being well replaced. She is costumed in a period red and white silky dress with lace trim on the collar and sleeves, with antique brown canvas shoes and a dark black old human hair wig. Condition: (Very Good).
