Lot of 2 Roman Bronze & Leaded Bronze Handles w/ Relief

Roman, Imperial period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A gorgeous pair of cast-bronze and leaded bronze handles, possibly for furniture, from the Roman Empire. Cast from bronze, the first features a ribbon-like body that elegantly swoops upwards to a top loop. Its base is adorned with the relief of a frontwards facing siren. The second handle is made of leaded bronze and displays a curved body with a circular top, a pointed base, and the relief of a nude male figure standing in contrapposto and holding an object. Size: 1.125" W x 6.25" H (2.9 cm x 15.9 cm)

Provenance: private New Jersey, USA collection; Handle with relief, ex-Lee Sleet collection, Trinity Antiques, United Kingdom, before 2011

Condition Report: Handle with nude male figure has losses to top and base. Handle with siren is missing top. Otherwise, both are very nice with lovely patina.
