[ translate ]

**First Time At Auction**

North America, Southwestern United States, ca. 500 CE. A group of twenty-five hand-knapped chert projectile points with triangular forms and serrated edges. Several have projecting tails, though most have tails flush with the body. Small points like these are colloquially called "bird points," as they were initially made to hunt birds; however, experimental archaeology has shown that they could easily have been used for hunting large game like deer as birds were much easier to capture with nets. Size of largest: 1" L (2.5 cm).

Provenance: private Denver, Colorado, USA collection, acquired by his father before 1970

All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.

A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany all winning bids.

We ship worldwide to most countries and handle all shipping in-house for your convenience.

#129961
Condition Report: All stones have age-commensurate surface wear and small chips along serrated edges. Some points have writing in black marker indicating the location they were found in or around.
