Lot of 4 Canaanite Pottery Cups

**First Time At Auction**

Ancient Near East, Holy Land, Canaan, Canaanite Bronze Age, ca. first half of the 2nd millennium BCE. A nice ensemble of four wheel-thrown pottery cups with rounded bases and semicircular handles bearing petite thumb rests. The shorter two cups have broad bodies and flared rims surrounding the shallow basins. The taller two cups have spherical bodies and slightly flared rims encircling the deep basins. Size of largest (spherical body): 3.625" W x 3.3" H (9.2 cm x 8.4 cm)

Provenance: private Dunn collection, Coral Springs, Florida, USA, acquired in the 1990s

Condition Report: Repair to handle and thumb rest of one shallow cup, with small chips and light adhesive residue along break lines; the other three vessels are intact. All items have minor nicks to rims, bodies, bases, and handles, with light encrustations. Nice earthen deposits throughout.
