Lot of 4 Visigoth Bronze Fibula Brooches

**First Time At Auction**

Southwestern Europe / Iberian Peninsula, Spain or Portugal, Visigoths, ca. 6th century CE. A fine gathering of four cast-bronze fibula brooches covered in green and brown patina. The first has a recessed triangular upper body and a lower panel with a quartet of diamond-shaped recesses. The second exhibits a lustrous green hue and has a lobed upper body. The third fibula has a more defined triangular upper body, vertical striations on the midsection, and a diamond-shaped lower body. The largest features faintly striated peripheries as well as an arrow-shaped finial atop the broad triangular body. Size of largest (arrow-shaped finial): 1.2" W x 3.7" H (3 cm x 9.4 cm).

Provenance: ex-private Dr. K.B. collection, Munich, Germany, acquired in the 1970s

Condition Report: All four items have losses to original brooch pins on verso as shown. All items have slight bending to overall forms, light encrustations, and softening to some finer details. Light earthen deposits and great patina throughout.
