Lot of 5 Ancient Roman Dog Mount c.2nd century AD. A group of five bronze canine mounts comprising: an openwork mount with a leaping hound; a dog head finial modelled in the round with pricked ears and hollow eyes, ribbed collar and remains of a tang; a stylised standing dog mount; a socketted mount depicting a bear-like hound with small ears and large eyes, short muzzle and slit mouth, fur detailing to the head, pierced through the chin; a finial with two conjoined dog heads with gaping mouth, pricked ears and hollow eyes, pierced through the muzzles. 84.6 grams total, 27-37mm (1 - 1 1/2").
