Lot of 5 Holyland / Canaanite Pottery Cups

Ancient Near East, Holy Land, Canaan, Canaanite Bronze Age, ca. first half of the 2nd millennium BCE. A fine gathering of five wheel-thrown pottery vessels. Three vessels are shallow cups with rounded bases, slightly flared rims, and a semicircular ring handle with a protruding thumb rest. The two taller vessels are round-bottomed drinking cups with spherical bodies, petite ring handles, and flared lips that surround the deep basins. Size of largest (shallow cup): 4.1" W x 2" H (10.4 cm x 5.1 cm)
Provenance: private Dunn collection, Coral Springs, Florida, USA, acquired in the 1990s

Condition Report: Repair to handle of one spherical cup, with earthen stabilization material along break lines; remaining four vessels are intact and very good. All vessels have minor nicks to rims, bodies, and handles, with light encrustations. Nice earthen deposits throughout.
