Lot of Mexican War Documents

Lot includes a selection of documents from the Mexican-American War. Includes receipts from the Quartermaster Department as well as an attorney appointment for the collection of extra pay for Mexican War veteran Harvey Robbins. Wayne County, New York native Harvey Robbins enlisted in Company G, 4th US Artillery in May 1843. He served throughout the Mexican War, at one point being captured and escaping. He published his memoirs The Adventures and Escapes of Harvey Robbins and Family in 1861, in which he relates his Mexican War experiences and later escape from the Confederacy when he was to be drafted into the rebel army. **Good condition overall.
