Title: Lot of Two Antique Violins and Two Bows Herman Rainer Antonius Stradivarius 1716 Copy and Unbranded “No. 36” Violin

Description: Lot of Two Antique Violins and Two Bows Herman Rainer Stradivarius Copy and Unbranded “No. 36” Violin. The Herman Rainer violin is a 4/4, and bears a sticker on interior of body delineating that it is a copy of the world-famous Stradivarius violin, and was made in Czechoslovakia. Both will require new strings, and likely other repairs or modifications to be restored to full-working order. Both come with their own hard cases. Lot includes two extra hard chin rests, and one soft chin rest. Both bows are strung, though the condition of the horsehair is untested.

Hallmarks or Signature: Copy of Antonius Stradivarius 1716 by Herman Rainer Made in Czechoslovakia; 36

Year or Circa: Uncertain and various; likely 18th and/or 19th century.

Condition of piece: Both boxes are damaged; both violins will require strings and further repairs. Please see photos for detail.
