Lots (1-12) form part of the collection of a wealthy family that moved to China as missionaries in the late 19th century, living in Beijing and later Shanghai. Their son served as Assistant Commissioner to the Shanghai Municipal Police in 1919 until 1928. The family returned to England shortly after the Second World War. A Chinese rosewood desk, early 19th century, the rectangular top with inset wood panel above a set of three deep drawers each with a key hole above hinged metal handles, with aprons to the sides carved with a recessed band, supported on four square legs ends in tapered feet decorated with scrolls, 126cm x 56cm x 87cm. 十九世紀早期 花梨木雕桌 來源：拍品號1至12皆為伉儷私人收藏。19世紀後期，紳士及其家庭以其傳教士的身份移居中國北京及上海，其子於1919年至1928年委任上海市警察局的副局長，於二戰後返回英国。
