Lots (1-12) form part of the collection of a wealthy family that moved to China as missionaries in the late 19th century, living in Beijing and later Shanghai. Their son served as Assistant Commissioner to the Shanghai Municipal Police in 1919 until 1928. The family returned to England shortly after the Second World War. A rare Chinese rosewood framed diorama depicting a court scene, early 20th century, the glazed rosewood frame housing two seated court officials wearing metal covered silk embroidered 'dragon' robes and finely detailed 'jewelled' crowns, in front of an altar table on which sits a pewter garniture, between racks of ceremonial staffs and weapons and beneath two turquoise lanterns and tasselled hangings, the case 68cm x 56cm x 36cm 二十世紀早期 祠堂模型 來源：拍品號1至12皆為伉儷私人收藏。19世紀後期，紳士及其家庭以其傳教士的身份移居中國北京及上海，其子於1919年至1928年委任上海市警察局的副局長，於二戰後返回英国。
