Orientalist characters and scenes dominate the production of this sculptor.
It was not until 1885 that he participated for the first time in the Salon de la Société des Artistes Français.
His sculptures are published, often in large sizes, in bronze, regula, marble and porcelain biscuit, very rarely in terracotta.
This sculptor was himself a publisher and created a league with the aim of defending literary and artistic property. He became president in 1888. Like Coudray, Dubucand and Guillemin.
Louis Hottot is today one of the first orientalist sculptors.
