Oil painting on board, "La Tentation," by/attributed to Louis Leopold Boilly (1761-1845). Apparently unsigned. Multiple label fragments and remnants with ink notations on reverse. Painting measures 9 x 12 inches. Framed dimensions: 14 1/2 x 17 inches. Very good condition.
Lot Note: This painting has been attributed at various times to both Louis Leopold and Eugene Boilly. A notation on the reverse of the painting attributes the painting to Eugene Boilly. Preston Hall Gallery is not an expert on either artist and cannot guarantee the former attributions.
