late 19th century, the shaped rectangular top inset with a leather writing surface, above a frieze fitted with three drawers to one side and three faux drawers to the other, raised on cabriole legs ending in sabots, the whole richly decorated with ormolu mounts and millwork.

Condition Report: Solid and stable with no movement observed in the legs. Normal rubbing and wear. The mounts exhibit oxidation to their surfaces. Metal edge molding at the bottom of two legs is loose. The inset leather top is in very good condition. The perimeter gilt decoration exhibits wear, and one corner of the top is slightly lifted. Locks present. No key. There are a few small spots of loose/bubbled veneer, most notably to one drawer face and a leg. There is a veneer loss to the perimeter edge of one drawer, about 3/8" x 1/4". NOTE: The piece may have been crafted in the second half of the 20th century.
