Louis XV/XVI-Style Marble-Top Commode

Transitional Louis XV-into-Louis XVI-Style Mahogany and Marble-Top Commode, the rectangular breakfront marble top above a conforming case fitted with three small frieze drawers, over two long drawers, all with ormolu banding and millwork, raised on cabriole legs ending in paw sabots, h. 38", w. 53", d. 23".
Condition Report: In overall very good condition. The piece exhibits minor wear, rubbing and some tight shrinkage lines in the veneer. The marble top has been broken and repaired. The case is tight and very solid. Drawers open and close smoothly.
