Louisiana School, "Natur Morte of Fish," 19th c., pastel on paper, presented in a painted wood frame, H.- 14 1/4 in., W.- 8 5/8 in., framed H.- 19 1/2 in., W.- 14 in. Provenance: The Estate of Lisa Montgomery, New Orleans, Louisiana.
Condition Report: The paper has five areas of horizontal paper creases on the proper right side of the piece along the border. Additionally there is a paper crease between the two fish tails and on the bottom right (proper left) corner of the piece. Humidity has also gotten to the paper and caused foxing throughout. At the top of the paper to the left (or to the proper right) of the string holding the fish, there is one small white spot of discoloration. The frame has dents under paint throughout, which is probably part of the wood texture. The bottom left and right sides of the frame have some surface scratches to paint.
