Lovely Nicoya polychrome bowl, Costa Rica

A lovely Nicoya polychrome bowl, Costa Rica, c. AD 1200 - 1500. This fine Vallejo Polychrome Janus form vessel features a pair of beautifully executed owl deity heads. The rim is decorated with geometric designs and broad red stripes. Dia: 5 5/8 in (14.2 cm). Vivid paint and good mineral deposits. Cf.
