Rome, Imperial period, ca. 1st to 2nd century CE. Expertly carved from a bovine bone, a stunning depiction of a goddess donning luxurious folds of drapery over her left shoulder and a polos crown upon her wavy coiffure. A lovely bust rendered in classical style, her beautiful oval face sensitively modeled so as to attain a naturalistic visage with her rounded forehead, large, almond-shaped eyes with thick upper lids, thin brows that arch gracefully and merge with the bridge of her nose, a rounded chin, and bow shaped, slightly parted lips. Adding to the sculpture's allure is its lovely sea green hue. Custom stand. Size: 2.375" W x 3.625" H (6 cm x 9.2 cm); 4.375" H (11.1 cm) on included custom stand.
