Lovely Roman bronze figurine of Apollo on horseback

A lovely Roman bronze figurine of Apollo on horseback, c. 1st - 3rd Century AD. The youthful god wears a chlamys and wreath with a patera in right hand and laurel branch in left; quiver at his right shoulder. His facial and body details are in good style and he looks to the right. The horse is very well modeled and is depicted springing, the animal's head with good detail. 2 5/8 x 2 1/4 in (6.7 x 5.7 cm). Both figures are in great condition, their differing bronze alloys giving them today a different color patina, but they do appear to be an original pairing. Ex New York private collection.
