Elegant champagne bucket from the French Art Deco era, designed by Luc Lanel for Christofle as part of a service of 45,000 pieces ordered for the liner Normandie in 1935. The model, called "ondulations", was originally designed for the dining room and first-class bar of the liner, the ‘S. S. Normandie’. This great ship was the pinnacle of Art Deco interiors and French refinement. Very good condition, very minor signs of age-related wear, some signs of oxidation in the bottom. Hallmarked & stamped by Christofle. Luc Lanel (1893-1966) , He is the Artistic Director of Christofle from 1922 to 1942; he created there many of the models, including the silversmith range that was used on the iconic Normandie liner. Models created circa 1932-1933. Securely packed and sent via Colissimo with tracking and insurance.
