Number 7 in a whole series of Ex Libris publications by artists such as Rachel Whiteread, Thomas Demand and Peter Doig. In this series, artists are invited to provide their favorite book with a new self-designed cover and an Ex Libris. The publisher then has this book printed with the new cover on a limited number of copies. Tuymans chose the book: 'Illusion and Reality' by Christopher Caudwell from 1937, which is a study of the sources of poetry.
