Lucas Ucín developed his pictorial career investigating geometry, chromatism and constructivism. Follower of Robert Delaunay, he used his inspirational base in Orphism or Orphic cubism, a colorist and abstract tendency of cubism, focusing later on circular forms and bright colors.
A disciple of Luis Garcia Campos and student at the Academia de San Jorge in Barcelona and at the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid, from the age of 19 he was away from his homeland studying painting in Barcelona and Madrid, while traveling to France, Italy and Egypt to study in their main museums. He held some exhibitions and won several awards in competitions organized by the Savings Banks of Spain, exhibiting in several countries and winning prizes and more than five scholarships for his work.
