Lucia Massari - SWING Design Gallery - Tray - STRATA

STRATA is a collection of glass trays made using the glass fusion technique. Designer Lucia Massari makes use of a traditional material and production process, but reinterprets it in an experimental way. STRATA looks like an abstract painting. The glassy material, constructed with formal rhythm and chromatic harmony, in contact with the high temperatures of the melting process, gives life to unexpected geometric patterns. The collection of unique pieces was designed and produced exclusively for SWING Design Gallery with the precious collaboration of Venetian craftsmen. Lucia Massari. Born in Venice in 1983. Italian designer and illustrator. She obtained a degree in product design at the Royal College of Art in London in 2009 with Martino Gamper and Jurgen Bay. Her multidisciplinary work ranges from product design, installation and performance. Driven by a strong passion for colour and ancient craft traditions, she designs ordinary and domestic objects that oscillate between two and three-dimensionality, showcasing both her craft and experimental side. She has exhibited at a variety of events including BIO Ljubljana Biennial of Design in Slovenia, London Design Festival, London Design Biennial, Vienna Design Week, Salone del Mobile, Operae in Turin. Her work was displayed at V&A in London, Trico Gallery in Tokyo, La Triennale di Milano, Schloss Hollenegg for Design, SWING Design Gallery.
