Ludwig Mies van der Rohe - Knoll - Chair (4) - MR 10

[ translate ]

The MR 10 chair by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe was designed in 1927 as part of his contribution to the Weissenhof exhibition in Stuttgart, Germany. The cantilevered design of the chair uses tubular steel, a technological innovation at the time, to create an ergonomically accessible and intuitive chair. (When he was asked why he had created chairs with large seats, Mies van der Rohe replied that he had designed chairs that were more comfortable to sit in) . Knoll International started producing the MR armchair from 1967. This set, made up of 4 chairs from the early '70s, is in better than good condition overall with some minor signs of age. The cords are the original ones from the period, and all the chairs have the authenticity label on the structure. A true piece of design history. Measurements: H 83 x W 46 x D 73 cm.
