Measurements: 70 x 110 cm without frame. Measurements: 84 x 125 cm with frame (as a gift) . Oil on canvas depicting a scene in the park signed L. Serena on bottom left. Coming from a private collection. It is in a fairly conservative state, in the first canvas and coeval frame. Slight crachelure. Small restorations emerge from the Wood lamp, and upon verification with solvents it was found to be authentic in every part, signature included. In this work we clearly see how the decorativeness of the painter Luigi Serena emerges in a clear and evident way, and the reference to the master Giacomo Favretto appears more decisive than ever. In fact, we notice how the posture of the central figure, in his torsion of the head, clearly expresses a typically Favrettian stereotype, all inserted in a chromatically balanced context, which make this work an interesting proof of how even "secondary" artists such as the Serena have reached excellent levels in that enormous pictorial ferment that represented the Veneto in the nineteenth century. The work can be placed in the last decade of the nineteenth century. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and lawful origin from our gallery with photos as required by law.
