Coveted by meteorite collectors, lunar meteorites are extraordinarily rare; only eighty-five have been found thus far. No lunar meteorites have been found in North America, South America or Europe. Both visually and compositionally, lunar meteorites display an appearance more similar to terrestrial rocks than typical meteorites. 98-99% of the crystalline material of the lunar crust is composed of only four minerals – plagioclase, feldspar, pyroxene, olivine and ilmenite. Northwest Africa (NWA) 3163 was discovered in August, 2005. Upon study, it was found to exhibit a thin, transparent, greenish fusion crust on the exterior edge, pale gray feldspar with multiple shock fractures and minor calcite coatings, plus some thin glass veining. The present specimen is a fine slice of NWA 3163. Weighing 25.5 grams; Measuring 2 1/2 x 2 x 1/8in
