Luristan Bronze Bell Necklace + 2 Bronze Bracelets

Ancient Near East, northwestern Iran, Luristan, ca. 1000 to 600 BCE. A fabulous group of wearable ancient art formed from strips, sheets, and links of bronze. Two bracelets feature hoop-form bodies and tapered terminals decorated with elegant stamped and incised motifs along the top sides. A delicate necklace features dozens of small ovoid chain links as well as seven small bells, five of which contain an even smaller bell within. Attractive green and brown patina envelops both bracelets and each necklace component and makes this an enticing ensemble of ancient fashion! Size (necklace): 23.5" L (59.7 cm); size (largest bracelet): 2.45" Diameter (6.2 cm).

Provenance: private California, USA collection; purchased in 1990s from a London, UK collection from Earl Kiefer through John Rillings

Condition Report: Bracelets and necklace wearable as shown. Losses to some smaller interior bells and clappers on necklace, with bending and loosening to some chain links, and light encrustations. Bracelets have minor abrasions and light softening to detailing, otherwise intact and very good. Light earthen deposits and fine patina throughout.
