Luristan Bronze Spear Point

Ancient Near East, Northwestern Iran, Luristan, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A lengthy cast-bronze spear point with a thin and gradually-narrowing fastening tang, a broad and well-sharpened blade which tapers to a slender point, and a thick midrib running the length of each blade face. While areas of the original bronze surfaces are still visible, the majority of the blade is enveloped in gorgeous russet- and emerald-green patina. Size: 10.25" L (26 cm).
