Ancient Near East, Northwestern Iran, Luristan, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A set of 3 weapons, 2 cast from bronze and 1 from copper, each bearing sharpened edges and a thick tang. Each weapon has a midrib of varying height and tips that were likely incredibly sharp when first created. Size of largest: 8.1" L x 1.3" W (20.6 cm x 3.3 cm)

Provenance: private Everett, Massachusetts, USA collection, purchased between August 15 and October 24, 2014; (slender pierced tang): ex-Windsor Antiques, New York, New York, USA; (thick pierced tang): ex-private Scappoose, Oregon, USA collection; (largest): ex-private UK collection
