(M) MHD BOLT ACTION RIFLE IN AN UNKNOWN .416 BELTED
A nice Belgium made Mauser action by E. Dumoulin as engraved on the bolt shroud just beneath the safety flag. Barrel signed "J.M. Penrod" on underside of shank. The rifle has been made with a 23 - 1/2" barrel, banded stepped hooded white bead font sight, half banded middle loop for sling, and an island base bearing one standing and two folding sights. The honey colored walnut stock has a pistol grip, fine checkering with a steel checkered grip cap, shadow line cheekpiece, eye for sling loop, orange rubber butt pad, matching checkered forend with ebony tip. The rifles action and stock has also been fitted with two reinforcing cross bolts, a checkered two panel bolt handle, smooth trigger and a two position flag safety. CONDITION: Very good. Barrel retains 99% black with sharp rifling. Stock and forend are in very good condition with some handling and usage marks. Floor plate shows some wear. Action and trigger both smooth and very good.
