"Male Smoking Pipe on Ox" - Meiji Period (1868-1912), bronze sculpture, calligraphic character mark (Seiya chu) to underside. Animal and figural sculpture on carvedwood stand. Approx. h. 14", w. 18.5" (sculpture); h. 1.625", w. 26.5 (stand).
Condition Report: Examined under blacklight, lacquer coating or patination to bronze fluoresces. Repair to back lower leg. Stand has some chips, scuffing, and scratches to top.
