[on sheet with] Vocabulorum Geographicorum Topica Significatio..., from Fasciculus Geographicus..., 1600 (dated). Hand Color. A very unusual, striking engraving featuring a magnificent 32-point compass rose or wind rose, paired on the same page with a map of an invented coastline used to illustrate a key and explanation of labeling for topographic map features. Engraved by Johannes Bussemacher. Explanatory Latin text on verso. Published in 1608. Size given is for both engravings combined.

Condition Report: A nice impression with light show-through of text on verso, a tiny hole along the centerfold that has been archivally repaired, and light soiling that is mostly concentrated in the blank margins. Two chips in the top corners of the sheet have been replaced with archival materials, not affecting the engraved image. Grade: B+
