Features round barrel, lever latch, buckhorn rear and blade front sights. Finish blued, with case colored hammer, lever and butt plate. Plain walnut stock is varnished. Barrel stamped "Marlin Fire-Arms Co. New Haven Ct. U.S.A./Patented Oct.11 1887 April 2.1889". Approximately 55,000 manufactured between 1889 and 1899. This is a clean example with sharp barrel legends. The stock is excellent and proud to metal. Fore-end has small chip on right side. Metal is a butterscotch smooth patina. Bore is crisp.
