Cal. 44-40. S# 332073. Mfg. 1906. Barrel 24" with right side bayonet lug. Added homemade blade front sight with carbine style rear sight. Walnut forearm approx. 20.5" with two barrel bands and cutout for cleaning rod. Carbine buttstock. CONDITION: barrel has a gray patina overall appearance with heavy oxidation near muzzle. Receiver has approx. 25% nickel finish mixed with patina, corrosion and scratches. Aged and worn wood appearance with numerous gouges, small cracks and marks; buttstock loose to frame. The bore shows 2 open holes from barrel band and bayonet lug approx. 4" from muzzle and 1 repaired hole 1.5" from muzzle; balance of bore shows strong rifling. (26-2521/MD). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
