SERIAL NUMBER N/A BARREL 30 1/2" CALIBER .303 BRITISH. MANUFACTURED 1889 / 1895. Built at Enfield using earlier rifles chambered for the 577 / 450 cartridge and updated with a new barrel chambered for the .303 British cartridge. Used and issue later by home guard units until 1918. Walnut stocks with steel butt plate dual barrel bands with baronet lug for the early Metford bayonet. Blue finished with nitro proofs. Comes with period leather sling. CONDITION. Good with exterior being a chocolate brown. Stocks are full sized with bruises and impressions. A minor crack exist at wrist but is stable. Bore is very good with strong rifling. Action operates properly. Sling is supple. ANTIQUE
