MCCORMACK JOHN: (1884-1945)
MCCORMACK JOHN: (1884-1945) Irish lyric tenor who received the title of Papal Count from Pope Pius XI in 1928. Vintage signed sepia 5.5 x 3 postcard photograph of McCormack seated in a head and shoulders pose at a piano. Signed in fountain pen ink across a lighter area at the head of the image. With a brief A.L.S., John McCormack, to the verso, addressed to Mr. Beale and informing him that is the only photograph available at the present time. Very slightly neatly trimmed to the lower white border (touching the signature to the verso) and with some heavy traces of former mounting to the verso (which also affect parts of the text and signature). G
