MD-106. Maryland. June 8, 1780. $1/2. PCGS Currency Very Fine 25.

No. 1449. Signed by Frederick Green and Thomas Johnson, Jr. A rare June 8th issued Revolutionary period currency known simply as "Black Money." So named due to its thick, dark black border designs. PCGS Currency does note a Restoration, which is just some reinforcing of the center fold. It does not appear to fundamentally affect the visual impact of this rare piece. It should be noted that the fractional denomination notes from this series are seen with far less frequency than whole denomination notes. It has been almost fifteen years since we sold a fractional denomination example.

Estimate: $1,000 - $1,500.
