MEISSEN Reticulated Applied Flowers Crossed Swords Bowl

[ translate ]

This is a beautiful Porcelain Reticulated Bowl Centerpiece made by Meissen.
The bow has beautiful applied flowers and lovely detail.
The basket has vine looped handles that curve into four feet.
It is marked with under-glaze with blue crossed swords with pommels mark used from c.1814-1860. Rontgen marks 1553-1561 show variations by hand. Hand incised A55.
The basket is 8 1/2" by 7 1/2" at the rim without handles and it is 4" tall.
It is in great vintage condition.
There is some wear on gold gild at the handles and few chipped leaves and petals, that is consistent with its age. Please refer to the pictures.
Actual color may differ from the photo due to lighting conditions
Exceptional collector’s piece. Would have a place in any china collection.
Classic elegance with a touch of romance is exuded by the famous rose décor from the Biedermeier era of the mid-end of the 19th century.
MEISSEN floral painting on porcelain is a genre carved out by the manufactory itself over a long period of time.
The white and pink-colored roses entwine themselves gently on the décor. Their blossoms are slightly open and the stem has small thorns, so deceptively real that you feel as though you can almost smell the heavenly scent.
The painter must think ahead while composing the motif because only a rather dull brown is available to him for the main parts of the motif. By applying the color in varying thicknesses, he can influence the subsequent appearance and the chromatic intensity of the blossom. A metamorphosis occurs in the third and final firing, when the rose acquires its radiant color.
This graceful queen of flowers blooms tastefully and elegantly throughout the year on the MEISSEN Roses table service.
