“RED Version”
Original promotional chocolate bar dispenser and piggy bank made of sheet metal with offset printing, shaped like a Morris column/kiosk.
25.2 cm tall.
In excellent condition—
The lithographs feature perfectly preserved colors, particularly the vivid reds.
The unit is complete with its original plexiglass cover and period key, and is in perfect mechanical working order.
There is simply a slight dent on the upper dome, a few scattered minor chips in the paint, and slight localized signs of oxidation at the base, none of which detract from the object’s superb overall appearance.
Menier, founded in 1816 in Paris by Jean Antoine Brutus Menier, began as a pharmacy before turning to chocolate. Established in Noisiel as early as 1825, the company launched the first industrially produced chocolate bar in 1836. Having become a major player in the chocolate industry during the 19th century, the company declined after 1945 before being acquired by large corporations, though it remained an iconic brand.
