META REBNER'S WORKING SCRIPT OF STEELYARD BLUES.
WARD, DAVID S. Mimeographed Manuscript, "Steelyard Blues," approx. 110 pp plus 11 pp of shooting schedule and 3 pp cast and crew contact list, 4to, n.p., May 24, 1971, bound with brads, heavily annotated in pencil, creased and thumbed throughout.

Steelyard Blues (1973) was produced by Michael and Julia Phillips (Julia of You'll Never Eat Lunch in This Town Again fame) and Tony Bill. Starring Donald Sutherland and Jane Fonda, the movie follows the antics of a demolition derby-loving ex-con who, against the wishes of his politician brother, decides to repair an old airplane with his gang of misfits. Bill, the Phillipses and screenwriter David S. Ward collaborated again the following year on the Academy Award®-winning project The Sting starring Paul Newman and Robert Redford.

Meta Carpenter Rebner Wilde kept very careful notes of production on this film, as always. The film was shot on location in Oakland and Santa Rosa, California between May 24 and July 15, 1971.
