Large felt pennant, '1916 Mexican Border Service', with an attached small silk 48-star flag, 58.5 x 23.5 inches. Mothing and loss towards tip of pennant, loss on silk flag, and loss at bottom left corner of pennant. The Mexican Border Service was a group of military service members who were assigned to the U.S.-Mexican Border during the Pancho Villa Expedition, a military operation conducted by the U.S. Army against the paramilitary forces of Mexican revolutionary Francisco 'Pancho' Villa from 1916 to 1917, during the Mexican Revolution of 1910 to 1920.
