MILCH ERHARD: (1892-1972) German Generalfeldmarschall who oversaw the development of the Luftwaffe as part of the re-armament of Nazi Germany following World War I. During most of World War II he was in charge of all aircraft production and supply as State Secretary in the Reich Ministry of Aviation and Inspector General of the Air Force. D.S., Milch, in his capacity as Reichsminister for Air and Commander-in-Chief of the Luftwaffe, one page, folio, Berlin, 13th April 1939, in German. The partially printed document, completed in manuscript, is a promotional document issued to Volkel and states that it is expected he shall be 'faithful to his service, will honourably fulfil his official duties and justify the trust that this appointment will instil in him' and, at the same time, that he will 'give special protection to the Fuhrer and Reich Chancellor'. With a blind embossed seal featuring the Nazi eagle and swastika. Some light creasing and overall age wear and one small tear to the lower left corner. About VG
