C. 1934. The Mills Novelty Co. Chicago. The "English" is a pinball-style game made by Mills and believed to have been made to get around the "Pinball" laws of NY that outlawed the plunger projection of a ball. Your nickel provides 9 shots to place the colored balls into play, with the marquee instructing you how to use "English" on the balls to place them in the right order. CONDITION: A very rare game, and this all original example is complete with original colored balls, all original paper instructions and hardware. There are light signs of wear from use, and some fade to the paper instructions. PROVENANCE: From the lifelong collection of Bill Howard.
