MINTON Greek God Dionysus Painted Tile

A painted tile, marked Minton on underside, obverse is painted to depict the god Dionysus, (Bacchus in Rome) God of wine, fruitfulness and vegetation and ecstasy, painted in a traditional Greco Roman style of the god sitting and working on a tambourine with a blue background with white floral motifs and a yellow boarder with a brown rim. Approximately 8 x 8 in. Chipping to edges and residue on obverse side of tile, wearing to underside of tile.
