[ translate ]

SERIAL NUMBER: M33157. BARREL: 18". CALIBER: .223 REM. The Beretta AR/70 rifle is an Italian offering designed by Vittorio Valle and introduced in 1970. Vittorio Valle was an influential Italian firearms designer for Fabbrica d'Armi Pietro Beretta. He is best known as a co-designer of the iconic Beretta 92 pistol family (including the 92FS and US Military M9) and the BM59 battle rifle. The AR70 development followed a joint study between Beretta & SIG that commenced in 1963 and was terminated in 1968. Beretta had tried to negotiate a contract w/ Colt to manufacture the M16 in Italy as well, but when it became clear that the firms would not be working together, Beretta started to study several gas & locking systems and ended up utilizing a conventional gas piston & recoil spring system, located above the barrel, & a twin lug locking system similar to those used at the time in the M2 Carbine & several Kalashnikov rifles. This pre-1989 ban variant has a matte black finish on all outward components. Protected post front sight. Dual aperture rear peep sight, marked at 150 meters & 300 meters. Full length plastic hand guards. Left side controls. Right side, reciprocating charging handle. Black plastic pistol grip. Full length, fixed shoulder stock. Sling swivels front & rear on left side. Left side of receiver marked "BERETTA - PATENTED - MADE IN ITALY / MOD. AR70, 223" w/ matching serial number on upper and lower receivers. Right side marked "MOD. 70 / SPORT / BERBEN CORPORATION, N.Y. N.Y." CONDITION: Excellent. It appears to have been fired little, if at all, post factory. Bore is bright with sharp rifling. Operates normally. MODERN
