MODEL OF THE THREE-MASTED SCHOONER ATLANTIC 20th Century

Displayed on a wooden cradle. Total height 46". Length 53.25". Width 7.5".

The Atlantic was designed by William Gardner for Wilson Marshall and was built in 1903 by Townsend and Downey Shipyard. Skippered by Charlie Barr, it won the 1905 Kaiser's Cup Race, setting the record for the fastest transatlantic passage by a monohull. The record remained unbroken for nearly 100 years.

Condition: Bowsprit is broken.
